Relying On Prayer

Hey! So this past week was interesting hahaha. We didn't actually get to our new area until Friday. They were redoing it to look nice for us, so we couldn't move in until then! We had a little zone service project cleaning it out before they painted it because Elders are pigs, so that was such a fun time there was so much trash and so many interesting things found haha. One of the fridges was so full of mold. But now it looks way better!! It's also been such an adjustment because I went from the most expensive house in the mission to well uh... not the most expensive house in the mission. Also on our first day here they redid the lock on one of the doors and it broke while we were insid. So we were locked in the house and the office elders had to come try to get us out and they couldn't, so then a neighbor had to come and power saw the lock off the door . It was a fun silly time.  But yeah!! We're covering 2 areas! Luckily both our wards meet in the same chapel and ...

Bye Alma Rosa

Hi!!!!! Okayyyy so after both of us assuming the whole transfer that Hermana Reategui was gonna leave next transfer and prepping this last week for that change... Presidente threw us a curveball and it's actually me that's leaving. I'm so sad haha I LOVE Alma Rosa and was really hoping to stay a little longer but hey, whatever the Lord wants. I'm gonna go pink wash an area yay!! (Take over an Elders area) This week was pretty chill. We had a baptism on Saturday for our friend Wikenson!! He's 13, Haitian, and so awesome. After we met him he would just come to church on his own, we only invited him once and after the first time because of his circumstances we didn't really expect him to come back, but he has every week!! He's such a silly guy and it was so awesome to see him come unto Christ. I'm so excited for him to keep progressing! Nothing else really happened just the transfer plot twist hahaha the whole week was kinda based around Reategui leaving an...

Alo!! Koman ou ye?? Duolingo got Creole on it so now I'll definitely come back speaking like a pro thanks Duolingo and textbooks from my mom <3.  This week was average idk. Nothing too crazy. We had some cool lessons and met some cool people!! This is the last week of the transfer and we think Hermana Reategui might leave the area so I'm a little emo about that lol.  We did have a cool experience on Saturday though. We were chillin after English class in the morning and saw that we had some missed texts and a missed call from a random number asking if we were coming and we were like what??? Usually because of English class we don't make appointments for Saturday morning so we were super confused. We called the number and they were like hi are you guys coming??? And we were like who are you? They said "Larimar, remember on the second floor of that house, on such and such road, from Thursday? You said you would come by again Saturday morning did you guys forget?"...

Rain & 3 Months

Image
Holaaaaaa This week was chill. And today I've been a missionary for 3 months!! Time is so warped I swear haha. These past couple of weeks I've been saying that I hear a lot about hurricane season here but haven’t seen anything close. Then this week it rained SO MUCH. You get what you ask for I guess. On Thursday we tried to get to a member's house for lunch and literally could not make it, the roads were so flooded and I was not wearing rain approved shoes lol. We were SOAKED. Fun times!!! Yesterday during church we saw some awesome little miracles. When it rains here everyone like goes into hiding. Especially on Sundays, so it's hard to see people at church. There's this one Haitian family with 4 kids that we're teaching that are progressing well, and the parents and oldest daughter have been the only ones to come to church, because the rest of the kids don't have shoes, but this week we had some members help us provide them with shoes!! So yesterday the wh...
