Frameworks
Hey
A tropical storm came through this week so on Tuesday and Wednesday we had to stay inside all day. Where we live the connection is super bad so the days were filled with a lot of "What?? It's cutting out" through the phone back and forth. But a huge miracle is that the power never went out! Usually when 1 drop of rain comes, the power goes out in an instant but throughout the storm it didn't! We had a lot of zoom meetings to have a district council, a zone council, and a mission council, and it was a huge throwback to be in so many zoom meetings haha.
The storm sucked up a lot of our week so I don't really have a lot of exciting things to share. We had an exchange on Thursday! We also saw a dead body in the street on Monday Night :(.

3. The framework of receiving revelation
Honestly this is something I'm still trying to completely figure out but, on my mission I have learned so much about how to receive and recognize revelation. About halfway through my mission a member shared a quote from David A. Bednar that just struck me so hard and has been with me ever since:
“We often make it hard on ourselves to receive personal revelation. By that I mean, the covenant promise is that as we honor our covenants, we may always have the Holy Ghost to be our constant companion. But we talk about it and we treat it as if hearing the voice of the Lord through His Spirit is a rare event. … [The Spirit] ought to be with us all of the time. Not every nanosecond, but if a person is doing his or her best—you don’t have to be perfect—but if you and I are doing our best and we’re not committing serious transgression, then we can count on the Holy Ghost guiding us. … “… We seem to believe that the Holy Ghost is dramatic and big and sudden, when it’s still and small and incremental over time. You don’t have to recognize that you are receiving revelation in the moment that you are receiving revelation.”
That last sentence is what got me the most. You don't have to recognize that you're receiving revelation in the moment that you are receiving revelation !!!!!!! Elder Bednar in that devotional later explains how Nephi talks about having been guided by the Spirit after it had happened, and while he was looking back. In the moment he probably just received sudden strokes of intelligence and realized after that it was the Spirit. That same thing has happened to me on my mission. I have had thoughts, followed the thoughts, then look back and realize that those were impressions from the Spirit. I used to really question my ability on recognizing the Spirit. I was doing everything I could to attain it and felt like my spiritual receptors might have been broken haha. But after hearing this quote and studying a lot, and trusting God a lot, I realized that it's true what Elder Bednar said— we don't have to be perfect, just doing our best, and we can trust that the Lord is guiding us. Just act on every good thing that comes to mind, for every good thing comes from God.
The Spirit is there and in small ways guiding us constantly. I recognize that now. And I am so thankful that God is so merciful!
Here I've truly learned how to hear Him. I've learned the way He speaks to me, and it's a blessing and pair of lessons I'll cherish for the rest of my life. That has been so special to me.
Here's a really great talk that also helped me learn the frameworks of revelation and how to recognize it!
