(Se)villa Mella 4ever!!!!

Hi!!


This week was awesome! We were able to reach a lot of our weekly goals which was so great! We invited a lot of our friends to come unto Christ through baptism and they accepted!! Unfortunately we're still working on the coming to church part but this week we're gonna go ham on that. 


This week we went to a reallllly far part of our area to meet up with a media referral and it was in the literal boonies, we had to take an Uber to get up there haha. Perry and I saw on the map that there's a way that connects the boonies we were at to another part of our area that connects to the main road, where we can get transportation, so we tried it and ay ay ay. It was a 45 minute trek to get from A to B, but it was fun! We got to walk through a jungle and cross a stream to get there but we made it. Definitely never doing it again but it was a fun one time thing!


Hermana Perry finished her mission ahhhh I am so sad I love that woman with my whole heart, she has impacted my life for forever!!! I got a new companion, her name is Hermana Roper and she is also half Latina!!! We actually are very similar haha. She's a powerhouse and I'm excited that she's my last companion. And I'm also excited to be here in Punta for my last transfer!!! Do you guys like my villa mella pun?? 


Also on Sunday I saw Yereidy!!!!! She is my favorite convert I LOVE HER. I hadn't seen her since I left Villa Esfuerzo, and now she's a counselor for PFJ!!!!!!!! 


Lately I've been thinking a lot about how much faith, hope, and charity really are intertwined.


Before the mission I had faith and hope, but was not the best at showing charity, I just didn't really have my priorities straight haha. I tried to be like Christ, but looking back, I just could've been and loved so much better. I'm really thankful to have this chance to be shaped into a better disciple of Jesus Christ. I've had a lot of experiences where I have really had to develop and exercise more charity, and have been shown that kind of higher love by others. It's changed me! Feeling that pure love of Jesus Christ drives me to love others more! That's why I love being here. I know Christ loves me and died for me, and I know that He has that same love for those around me, so I have to show them His love! We are instruments in the Lord's hands to show others the love He has for us. What a privilege! I've developed a lot more charity, which in return has developed more my faith and my hope. Truly, without charity, without love, we are nothing. And we can't have faith or hope if we don't have charity. So I invite you guys to pray and ask God to be filled with charity, I promise He'll help your heart grow.

45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Hi!! This week was nice!!! I definitely saw some tender miracles this week!! We had a really good lesson with our friend Dagoberto and his wife Risa. He has sooooo much faith and we're just waiting for a few medical things to work out so he can get baptized!! They are so amazing and the spirit that we felt with them this week was so special. That lady that I said gasped during the First Vision is on date now!!!! Her name is Adilka and she's so special. She has so much faith and she said that when she reads the Book of Mormon the feeling she gets is indescribable. I'm so stoked for her. Her whole family are members but inactive and her inactive sister was such a huge help during our lesson to help us get her on a date, it was so funny but perfect!! The inactive sister has started to reactivate so it's awesome. Such a good lesson I just love them. That's about it hahaha this week was good and some frustrating things but that's the mission life I suppose. Good news...

I come home this week. In case you're wondering, yes, I am emo. I'm sad. I can't believe it. I can't believe the time has gone by so quick. My homecoming talk will be  THIS SUNDAY the 17th at 9am  at 550 E 700 S, I'd love to see you there!! There will be food after at Vernon Worthen Park :). This week was so crazy and so awesome. We had the mission tour with Elder Villanueva and I loved it!! We had 2 MLCs with him, and my companion and I are also part of the technology committee, so we had a technology council with him as well! Him and his wife are super cute, I love them and I feel lucky to have heard from them twice on my mission! 3 days full of awesome learning and application. I wish I had more time to apply everything I learned. On the last day he talked a lot about being a disciple of Jesus Christ for our whole lives and I feel like it was a message just for me! Letting The Holy Spirit Guide

Alo!! Koman ou ye?? Duolingo got Creole on it so now I'll definitely come back speaking like a pro thanks Duolingo and textbooks from my mom <3.  This week was average idk. Nothing too crazy. We had some cool lessons and met some cool people!! This is the last week of the transfer and we think Hermana Reategui might leave the area so I'm a little emo about that lol.  We did have a cool experience on Saturday though. We were chillin after English class in the morning and saw that we had some missed texts and a missed call from a random number asking if we were coming and we were like what??? Usually because of English class we don't make appointments for Saturday morning so we were super confused. We called the number and they were like hi are you guys coming??? And we were like who are you? They said "Larimar, remember on the second floor of that house, on such and such road, from Thursday? You said you would come by again Saturday morning did you guys forget?"...
