Please Read John 14 It's So Good

Hey!

We got to meet Presidente and Hermana Chaverri this week and I LOVE THEM. They are SO awesome, so loving, and so dedicated to the work. They have such a drive and I am so sad I don't get more time with them! Ah I just love them and know I'm here at this time to learn from them as well!!!

This week was good, super busy, so after MLC and zone conference our time kinda got sucked up but it's okay the meetings were totally worth it, I'll say it again, I love the Chaverris.

I saw someone do a thing where they do 10 things they've learned from their mission for the last 10 weeks and I thought it was cool so I'm gonna copy them. I actually don't have a lot of time to write this and I've learned so much from my mission so it's hard to dial it down to just 10, but here's what I'll include for this week:

10. Spiritual work works.

To explain this point, here's the quote I got this from:
"Our ability to hear spiritually is linked to our willingness to work at it. President Hinckley has often said that the only way he knows to get anything done is to get on his knees and plead for help and then get on his feet and go to work. That combination of faith and hard work is the consummate curriculum for learning the language of the Spirit. The Savior taught, ‘Blessed are all they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost’ (3 Ne. 12:6; emphasis added). Hungering and thirsting translate to sheer spiritual labor. Worshiping in the temple, repenting to become increasingly pure, forgiving and seeking forgiveness, and earnest fasting and prayer all increase our receptivity to the Spirit. Spiritual work works and is the key to learning to hear the voice of the Lord.” (Sheri Dew).

I have totally learned this on my mission. If I want to follow the Lord, I have to work at it! I have to try to follow Him, I have to repent daily, I have to pray often, and do my best to consecrate my performance to Him. It's so true, spiritual work DOES work. I've seen it in my own life now more than ever. The Lord is so willing to help us but we also have to be willing to be seekers and do our part.

Also read John 14, I read it this morning and it's so great and amazing and I love it and love Christ so I always hope to show Him!!!
