This Work Is Totally The Lord's
Hello
Our little friend Victor got baptized on Saturday! The elders we share a chapel with also had a baptism on Saturday and told us they were gonna fill the font, but when we showed up an hour early to the baptism to set things up, the font was completely dry. The font usually takes like 2-3 hours to fill. So with a TON of buckets and a little bit of chaos we were able to fill up the font with just enough water for Victor! It's a good thing Dominicans are always late haha that bought us so much time. Other than that it was really tender! After the baptism the bishop interviewed him for the priesthood and yesterday after church he received it! Next goal: the temple!!!
We had a lesson this week with our friend Sagrario who said that she LOVED church. She told us how she's visited so many different churches and felt like something was missing from all of them. When she came with us on Sunday she said she felt something so different that it impacted her whole week. She said that her kids and those around her saw a change in her, that she wants to do and be better. She told us she's never felt so much peace, that she's never felt that way before. We invited her to be baptized and she accepted and sincerely wants to work towards that and a forever family. She wants her family to be more united. And she came to church again yesterday and brought her 2 kids!!!! It was awesome!! These experiences strengthen my testimony that this work really is the Lord's. This was just our first visit with her because of schedule clashes. We've barely taught her anything but that doesn't even matter because the Spirit has done His job. The Spirit testifies of the truth, it testifies that Christ lives, that He is our Redeemer. And I know that that's what Sagrario felt. She felt the difference, she felt the Spirit! "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 16:17). This is God's work, not mine or my companion's, or the Prophet's. It's His.
Nestor is progressing so well! On Sunday he went up to bare his testimony! It's so awesome. He has such a strong desire to be baptized, and is really trying to do all he can to make this covenant with our Heavenly Father. Everytime we meet with him and he prays, his prayers are some of the most sincere I've ever heard! Please keep him in your prayers!
We had a mission tour with Elder Gavarret, the Area President and it was super good! Learned a lot about how we can make sure we focus on our purpose!
Also we had termites in the house this week, it was such an adventure the fumigator guy came to our dressers and all he did was push the side of the drawers and it crumbled so easily, and he said "yup. termites." We now have no dressers haha.
Me and Hermana Perry change our WhatsApp profile picture every week and we think it's the funniest thing ever. Dominicans use WhatsApp like snapchat and it's hilarious. And people notice when we change it and their comments are hilarious. I'll show you this week's below.
This month as a zone we are focusing a lot on daily repentance and being accountable to the Lord. Hna Perry and I have already seen miracles! We are trying really hard to reach our daily goals, working hard to make sure we are aligning our will with God's and truly repenting and trying to better every day. It's made a difference and it's bettered the work. We've been more focused and more in tune with the Spirit. I love praying at the end of the day and telling the Lord what went on in the day, and seeking guidance on where I lacked and what I can do better. I know that the Lord will help us become like Hik if we let Him! I invite you guys to do the same, trust the Lord and see what you guys can work on everyday to feel His Spirit more!
Love you all
