Holy Week & One Year
hey
This week was a little weird haha it just felt a little off but we made it through and still had a good turnout!
We had exchanges this week and they went really well!! I really love our stls and I'm thankful for them! I got to go with Hermana Beus one last time before she heads home :').
Conference was this weekend and it was so. good. We had some friends come watch with us at church and it was awesome! Our main focus was our friend Diony. On Saturday afternoon we had him come with us to a members house to watch it there, and on Sunday he hung out at the church with us to watch it there! We invited him to think of a question or doubt and really just come to conference searching for an answer! He was determined and watched all the sessions, and at the end, said he received an answer! We were so glad! Still no answer on baptism yet, but I think his faith definitely grew this weekend and he got to come spend time with members so I'd say were headed the right direction.
I got answers to a few of my own questions this weekend and I am just so thankful that God is so loving to let us have real living prophets and apostles today. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I know they're called of God the same way He called His prophets and disciples in the Bible. The messages were all so amazing and definitely inspired by God. A weekend full of a lot of self-reflecting and goal setting to be able to apply these teachings in my life! General Conference is always a good check up to see how I can better my relationship with Christ and better emulate Him!
Also conference was on Palm Sunday!! It's Holy Week! This week the most important event to ever happen in the existence of everything took place. Christ paid the ultimate price this week. He gave us everything. He was faithful to the end, the best example of pure obedience out of pure love. He redeemed all mankind, redeemed us from our sins, not in our sins. Christ suffered so that we could repent and come unto Him, be bound to Him through covenants. That is the whole reason He came:
21 Behold, I have come unto the world to bring redemption unto the world, to save the world from sin.
22 Therefore, whoso repenteth and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I receive, for of such is the kingdom of God. Behold, for such I have laid down my life, and have taken it up again; therefore repent, and come unto me ye ends of the earth, and be saved. (3 Nephi 9:21-22)
Christ gave His life for YOU this week. He gave you everything, He's given me everything. He gave His life and was resurrected. He is risen. This is the biggest miracle to ever take place ever. He lives! Death is not the end! This life is not the end! Because of Him and this event, we have hope. This week is so sacred. I invite you all to reflect on Him this week, and all the opportunities His sacrifice gives you.
And finally, tomorrow I hit a year on the mission and it is so surreal to me. I cannot believe it has been one whole year. Deciding to serve a mission has been the best decision of my life. This is so unique. It has been the most fulfilling year of my life. I've never learned, grown, stretched, or walked (haha) more in my entire life. It's been hard at times but I really just barely remember those, I just remember all the good I've experienced, the growth that I've experienced! I've grown so much closer to my Savior and I'm so far from perfect but I really have been fine tuned here. Jesus has changed me and is making me into a better disciple of Him. He is here and I literally get to talk to people all day everyday about Him! I get to share hope! I get to share light, joy, peace, and His love!! The absolute best thing ever. I've seen lives change and I've seen His hand so present. God exists and this is His church. He directs it, no one else. I feel happy to be able to be one of His representatives.
I love my Savior, His work, and this country.
God loves you all that He sent His beloved Son, there's act of love greater.
& I love you guys too!! Let me know your insights on conference and what you can learn about Holy Week!
