They Had Hope, So I Can Too!

Hey!! What's up guys?

We got transfer news on Saturday and I learned to never trust transfer news until it actually happens, even if it comes from Presidente himself because they are in fact not splitting the area, after we had been prepping for such the whole week. Also I'm training, I'm nervous haha, but excited!

We had some fire lessons this week and the Spirit was so strong and then! Our friends dropped us. Yeah. I'm so sad. Sigh. But on the bright side we had a lot of friends come to church with us yesterday!! In Sunday School we were going over Come, Follow Me in Amos and Obadiah, and the teacher was so awesome and really focused the lesson on our friends. The lesson was about prophets and it was basically a Q&A where our friends could ask any questions they had and the members in the class were all so awesome in answering and helping our friends understand!! Some of our friends speak Creole so we even had a member translate for them, and they all left feeling super edified and wanting to keep learning more! Talk about member missionaries! This branch is so awesome :,).

This past transfer has been such a whirlwind idk how to describe it but I'm so thankful for all the learning experiences I've been able to have. I'm excited for a new transfer and a fresh start.

I really loved my study this week!! Something I've loved from this transfer is spending all my free time studying. It's been awesome and has really kept me going haha. With my study of the Book of Mormon this year I've been finding more of the love of God for EVERYONE. The Book of Mormon is the biggest testament of God's love. To know that Christ visited EVERYONE, that He doesn't have personas favoritas, that He is the Savior of the WHOLE world, has just helped strengthen my testimony of Him so much. It's always interesting to me to see the people in the Book of Mormon acknowledge that they're far from the Holy Land. Sometimes they were sad about it. I think I would be too! Knowing that the only perfect person to ever live would come to the Earth, but would grow up and bring to pass many miracles in a far away place. I love that they had hope though. Hope! Isn't that awesome? They had prophets that told them Christ would visit them too. They had experiences that showed them God was aware of them too. So they had hope!  The people in Ancient America found joy in Christ's coming, knowing that God remembered them too. So I too can have hope. The Book of Mormon testifies to me that if God can remember and is aware of a whole other nation, then He remembers and is aware of me too. That gives me the  hope to keep going. And I'm here, also a wanderer in a strange land, but I get to be part of the declaration that gives people that hope. I get to share these glad tidings to people here in the Dominican Republic. I'm thankful to share this hope with all parts of His vineyard.

22 Yea, and the voice of the Lord, by the mouth of angels, doth declare it unto all nations; yea, doth declare it, that they may have glad tidings of great joy; yea, and he doth sound these glad tidings among all his people, yea, even to them that are scattered abroad upon the face of the earth; wherefore they have come unto us.
23 And they are made known unto us in plain terms, that we may understand, that we cannot err; and this because of our being wanderers in a strange land; therefore, we are thus highly favored, for we have these glad tidings declared unto us in all parts of our vineyard.
24 For behold, angels are declaring it unto many at this time in our land; and this is for the purpose of preparing the hearts of the children of men to receive his word at the time of his coming in his glory.
25 And now we only wait to hear the joyful news declared unto us by the mouth of angels, of his coming; for the time cometh, we know not how soon. Would to God that it might be in my day; but let it be sooner or later, in it I will rejoice.
(Alma 13:22-25).

Read the Book of Mormon this week! God's love overflows the pages :).

I love you all so much, Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for you all. Send me something you're grateful for!
