She Watched Me Pee

Hello hello hello!!!

This week was so bomb ahhhh. So many good moments this week, I've been really grateful to be a missionary this week! Sorry this is probably the longest email I've sent oops.

Okay so this week was the first week of the transfer! We live with 2 other hermanas and we got a new one who got transferred here! She is so fun I love having missionary roommates lol.

On Wednesday I had to get this medical thing done for residency here and all of us missionaries had someone watch us pee in a cup. Got some blood drawn and got to see a St. George friend that's in the West Mission, Hermana Bingham!! So fun!!! Then we went to McDonald's for lunch after haha and then rode the metro which was a fun little experience. Later we had a lesson with our friend Luis who is someone we have to take our time with hahaha. He has soooo many questions and says he wants to receive a dream or sign that the Church is true. He is a very analytical guy. We've revisited each lesson so much because we kinda go in circles with him. But we're making progress and we think he could be baptized soon!!

And this week we also had exchanges which I think are so dreadful but it actually wasn't too bad! I had a better experience than the last time though!! I learned some things and it was a fine time but I was happy to come back to Alma Rosa after hahaha.

This week we also taught English class which was fun! Our English class is for youth and it's an adventure every time. They are so funny and I love them haha it was so fun to teach this time! Usually we just sit and help the teacher out haha.

Then, we saw so many tender mercies on Saturday. To save some time I'll only share one though! We went to go teach our friend Lucy for the 2nd time and first of all she is just so prepared. I heard people talking about how they've found people that have been prepared for them and I haven't experienced that until Lucy. She has a daughter named Melany who's 8 years old and she's cute, she doesn't really listen in on the lessons hahaha. When we first met her she was so nice and invited us in. We had a really good feeling about her. Our first lesson with her she loved the Restoration and really wanted a Book of Mormon. She was truly comprehending everything which is kinda hard to see here!! Then on Saturday, our 2nd time meeting with her, we brought her a Book of Mormon and she was so thankful. We came with the plan to teach The Plan of Salvation and before we started she had told us that she had a hard week because a family member had passed away. What are the odds that we were gonna talk about this plan that gives us hope in these hard times. We shared this amazing plan of happiness with her and it felt so special sharing about the Atonement of Jesus Christ with her, letting her know how central He is to this plan and that she's not alone in this life or in this hurt that she feels. It was way special. We shared some scriptures from the Book of Mormon and she loved it! She marked the verses right then and there and it was seriously so tender I haven't seen anyone do that before. She's amazing and the lesson was just what she needed. The Lord works in the best ways!! Also she came to church on Sunday and said she'll come back.

Spiritual Thought:
After Nephi had seen the tree of life, he heard his brothers disputing and went over to see what's up. His brothers told him some questions they have and I just love Nephi's response!! He said "And I said unto them: Have ye inquired of the Lord?" (1 Nephi 15:8). First of all the footnote for this scripture says "TG Problem-Solving" which I think is so funny and silly because literally if Laman and Lemuel would have prayed and asked God then they wouldn't have been as confused!! Anyways then verse 11 is so awesome: "Do ye not remember the things which the Lord hath said?—If ye will not harden your hearts, and ask me in faith, believing that ye shall receive, with diligence in keeping my commandments, surely these things shall be made known unto you." Isn't that so awesome?? First, we should always inquire of the Lord. And here's how to do it! With faith, keeping the commandments, and believing that you'll receive an answer!! We have to believe that God will answer us, because HE WILL!! So talk to God, He's there for you and can solve your problems :).

LOVE YOU ALL
