"Gracias!!"
This week was so great!!!
We had Luis' baptism this week!! It was so amazing! It was so tender, when he got out of the water he had the biggest smile on his face and did a little wave from the font haha. He was so happy after and he is super excited to receive the priesthood and a temple recommend! Our bishop said he's gonna take him on a temple trip soon so he can go!! And then after he was confirmed, as he was walking back to his seat and was sustained, he put both fists in the air and said "Gracias!" With a huge smile on his face. He is seriously gonna be such a good disciple of Christ. Yay Luis!
We also had the baptism of our friend Adán the same day!! He is 16 years old and practically lives at the church. He lives right next to it and comes to church every Sunday and goes there to play basketball every night with the young men. We've been visiting him and just had to get his mom's approval for him to be baptized, and she said yes this week! So he officially became a member! His friend in the ward baptized him and I'm also super excited for him! I can see him being a great missionary one day!
The rest of the week was awesome! We had Zone Conference which was amazing, I love Presidente and Hermana Acosta!! They have such a big love for all of us and I feel so thankful to have them!! We talked about the importance of the doctrine of Christ. Presidente said exactly what I needed to hear, he truly is led by God!
Some funny moments were that thus pair of twins in a family we got was absolutely wrecking these puppies they were playing with them like toys instead of living creature. We tried to hold some to help them out but there were too many haha. They're wild. Love them though.
Spiritual Thought:
1 Nephi 21:15-16
15 For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.
16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
There are so many good things I read this week but these scriptures are what I needed the most. Sometimes we might think that the Lord forgets us in our lives, but the truth is He doesn't!! A mission is hard, life is hard, but knowing that the Lord is with me every step of the way helps me feel relief in those hard times. Knowing He's there for me gives me hope, and helps me be the victor and not the victim of tribulations in my life. Because He died on the cross for us, because He loves us, He has us permanently on His hands, the marks from the cross are a permanent reminder to Him to always look out for us. I promise He is there for you and for everyone on this earth. He literally cannot forget us. He hasn't and He never will. Trust Him and His plan. I'm so thankful for a Savior who knows exactly how I feel and knows me better than I know myself.
The viviendas brought some more fans this week and I've never been more thankful.
Love you guys!!!
